Tribe Hotel

The new TRIBE hotel at Manchester airport is a unique and innovative construction project that combines traditional construction methods with modern methods of construction (MMC) and offsite solutions. This hybrid approach ensures that the hotel is built to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. By using MMC and offsite solutions, the project is able to reduce waste, improve safety, and speed up construction times. The result is a stunning hotel that offers guests a truly exceptional experience, combining the best of both worlds in terms of traditional and modern construction methods.

This 412 key new build hotel is located just outside Manchester airport and is part of a strategic development by MAG to increase Manchester Airport’s capacity and attractiveness to the local market.

This will be first Tribe in England and only the second in the UK. This 4* hotel, spread over nine-storeys, will also feature four restaurant and bar areas, working spaces, a gym and a crew lounge for airline staff travelling through Manchester.

MYC Group is acting as the main contractor, while MY-Fab will be manufacturing over 400 amenity pods, MY Facades are manufacturing and installing the facades and MY-MEP designed and are installing the MEP systems in their entirety.

Farm Street

This multiple award-winning Mayfair development provides 14 off-site affordable housing apartments for key workers, associated with the neighbouring Audley Square House.

Our key objective was to create a high-quality building with a thoughtful and consistent approach to all elements of design. The primary frontage contains strong, articulated forms, reflective of the neighbouring Queen Anne style, also echoed in the projecting gable window arrangements, sliding folding large format external doors and many of the internal finishing details.

Farm Street is an excellent example of how MYC Group can bring super prime quality standards to the affordable housing sector.

The scheme also includes a range of performance-enhancing features including; communal plant, PV panels, CHP installations, HRV systems, and a high-performance thermal envelope. Ecological considerations include the incorporation of bird and bat homes into the brickwork at roof level and in-house cycle storage at ground floor level.

  • British Home Awards 2021, Affordable housing category – Winner
  • Civic Trust Awards 2022 – Regional Finalist
  • New London Awards 2021, Housing category – Shortlisted

Chiswick Room 2

One of MYC Group’s latest project, Room2 Chiswick is the world’s first whole life net zero hotel!

Whole life net zero means that all the carbon emissions from the life cycle of the building will equal zero. This is everything from the construction, operation to end-of-life and every stage in between.

Part of the Room2 growing brand, once a parking lot and now a 70’s chic new build hometel of 86 rooms, spreading across four storeys above ground plus basement. Room2 Chiswick will operate at 89% less energy than a typical UK hotel. All of the energy demand is met by renewables from solar, wind and hydro. The hometel also offers a relaxing public area, a lounge bar, gym and a commercial kitchen.

The scheme achieved excellent in BREEAM. The project has won multiple awards for hospitality and sustainability.

Trocadero

MYC Group undertook the complete refurbishment of the Grade II listed Trocadero building. The project involved adding two new floors, plus a complex cut and carve, with structural works ranging across the entire project, plus a full fit out.

The Trocadero is a large building adjacent to Leicester Square, housing multiple businesses. These include a new 800 key hotel (Zedwell Piccadilly), commercial offices, restaurants, retail units, a cinema and residential apartments. MYC Group refurbished every element of the building, working closely with our landlord (Criterion Capital) and all of the tenants.

With a 3 year programme, the project was carefully phased to minimise our impact on the tenants, immediate neighbours and the general vicinity of the hotel. Inevitably, due to the heavy nature of much of the work, noise disruption was inevitable. We carefully phased our disruptive work elements to minimise our impact on the incumbent tenants.
