Trocadero
MYC Group undertook the complete refurbishment of the Grade II listed Trocadero building. The project involved adding two new floors, plus a complex cut and carve, with structural works ranging across the entire project, plus a full fit out.
The Trocadero is a large building adjacent to Leicester Square, housing multiple businesses. These include a new 800 key hotel (Zedwell Piccadilly), commercial offices, restaurants, retail units, a cinema and residential apartments. MYC Group refurbished every element of the building, working closely with our landlord (Criterion Capital) and all of the tenants.
With a 3 year programme, the project was carefully phased to minimise our impact on the tenants, immediate neighbours and the general vicinity of the hotel. Inevitably, due to the heavy nature of much of the work, noise disruption was inevitable. We carefully phased our disruptive work elements to minimise our impact on the incumbent tenants.
MYC Group is acting as main contractor and MMC integrator for the TRIBE hotel project. This 9 story RC framed building is a part of the Manchester Airport hospitality hub. On top of complex ground works, the logistical coordination requirements of working within a major airport required meticulous planning for all site movements and deliveries.
Before commencing on site, mock ups were fabricated in MY Group’s offsite construction facility MY-Fab, to reduce site interferences and streamline onsite logistics. The building employed offsite manufactured bathroom pods to further reduce the overall programme and increase overall project efficiencies.
