Currently on-site, one of MYC Group’s own developments, the Cut is a new-build residential development located at a busy intersection in Southwark. Opposite the Old Vic theatre, the site was a former retail unit, immediately adjacent to a social housing block.

Working with architects Squire & Partners, our in-house design team from MYFab developed the scheme to maximise the value of the underutilised space, whilst leveraging the full benefit of our off-site manufacturing capabilities.

The project is split into three distinct elements. Firstly the preparation of the site. We carefully demolished the existing retail unit, formed the new groundworks for the building and upgraded the incoming services. Due to the limitations of the site, we then took the building up to podium level and installed the fixing points and MEP connections for the installation of the modular units.

Secondly, the manufacture of the modular units at our factory in Northampton. Finally the installation of the units on site, plus associated zipping up of the
interiors and closing up of the envelope, along with final services commissioning.
